Pure Gold

When the people saw how long it was taking Moses to come back down the mountain, they gathered around Aaron. “Come on,” they said, “make us some gods who can lead us. We don’t know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt.” Exodus 32:1

"Many shifts have opened the eyes of the world and as they stand peering into the church, God has given His children an opportunity like never before. The winds of heaven are calling us to wait upon the Lord and not turn back to the gods of this world. Awakened to His presence, we must stand firm and push into the pain of purification. God is seeking a generation unwilling to bend to the spirit of compromise."

Moses was a mighty man of God, humbly giving all to commune with the Father. He climbed a mountain to speak with God and left Aaron to lead the people. Impatience plagued God's chosen and they began to urge Aaron to turn back to what was common; worshiping the gods of their bondage. Instead of standing firm and rallying the people to wait, Aaron listened and joined the crowd. He turned back.

Reading this passage Holy Spirit reminds, we are presented with the same crossroads today. There is no doubt God is shifting the eyes of the world onto the church. He is trusting us with a divine moment, a purposed hour to press in and shift a generation back to the alter. Where is the pure voice? Are the intercessors asleep? A choice must be made. Will we seek His face over the gods of this world or grow impatient and follow the crowd?

Aaron gathered tangible gold and created a man made idol while Moses stood before the Father. At the foot of the mountain, gold was molded into something beautiful, shiny, and accepted by man, but it was not of God. The people arose early and worshiped planning a festival. How quickly they moved away from the one true God to serve the gods of the past. The crowd called and the few joined in the celebration. Our world may not be the desert but this same temptation knocks on the door of the church today.

The Lord is sending a reminder, man's gold and idols will not advance the kingdom in this season. Heaven has awakened a hunger for a pure prophetic voice.

These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold--though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. 1 Peter 1:7, NLT

Our authentic faith in God is purifying. Waiting patiently on His presence and seeking His ways above earthly treasures, refines.

How quickly they have turned away from the way I commanded them to live! Exodus 32:8a, NLT

I truly believe the awakening has begun and we must stand firm in His word and steward His ways. The world continues to cry out and lure those awakened back to the worship of man made idols but we must not bow.

But Moses replied, “No, it’s not a shout of victory nor the wailing of defeat. I hear the sound of a celebration.” Exodus 32:18

Compromise sinks many deeper and deeper into a sound that is neither victory or defeat. Lukewarm, they crave celebration and a double minded lifestyle while rocking other's into spiritual sleep.

Moses came down from the mountain to the sound of celebration, but he was not confused. He knew the people did not cry out for God the Father but the god of man. In his anger he destroyed the commandments, the golden calf and held Aaron accountable for his compromise.

Moses was not a sin soother.

For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:29

Moses willingly climbed the mountain to stand in the presence of the all consuming fire. Dear God give us strength to walk through the mocking and worldly temptation and find you in the secret place.

On the mountain Moses stood with God and desired His presence above all others. Will we? The world is watching and waiting. What will they see? Followers of Christ embracing the process and pushing forward or compromise as we turn back and justify.

Moses may not have made it to the earthly promised land but he made it into the presence of the Lord. Man made gold is only for a moment, God's treasure is eternal. In this moment of time keep your knees sore and guard your gates.

The enemy roams and seeks to destroy but God is all powerful standing strong crying out with a mighty, eternal all powerful roar.

Each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. 1 Corinthians 3:13, ESV
